Japanese Cotton Cheesecake

After losing my original recipe I found one I believe to be pretty close. This baked cheesecake with a texture akin to a cross between a light fluffy sponge and a New York Cheesecake had the appearance of latex foam. It is without a doubt THE most delicious cheesecake We have ever made. After a few oven thermostat issues(something I've been wingeing about for a while now) it eventually cooked. Cracked top and all. Flavour perfect, appearance less than. You will want to close your eyes to savour this dessert, the pure pleasure of it in your mouth needs no interference. I had high hopes for this one and it almost delivered. Check it out on our cheekyricho YouTube channel.

Afternoon kayak fishing trip

A tranquil sunset fishing trip in the Hobie outfitter Kayak. Yesterday we went for a paddle in the river. After recent flood, the river has changed. Channels have moved, sand banks have appeared in some places a disappeared in others . Well known snags have migrated to different positions as well . We caught one Bull Rout fish. A nasty specimen with dangerous poisonous spines. It chopped off my favourite irreplaceable lure. Not a successful fishing outing but very peaceful.

Introducing my secretary

This Portia in the office hard at it.
She left her little bed to come help upload some YouTube videos. Bless her little loyal heart.

McHales Navy

This little boat dressed like a cross between a war ship & a fishing trawler sailed up the river today. A large boat called Zena still trying to work out what it was.

Cutting holes in the new ute

Here we are installing a snorkel in the new ute. Scary stuff for us. NO instructions came with it. Luckily it all worked out. This is the point of no return.

Or something else

No after recent flooding the local beaches are covered in thick fluffy mountains of wobbly foam. The onshore winds are picking up chunks of it and rolling it beach ball style up into the sand dunes. Tilly accidentally dropped her fetching stick into it and it disappeared. The foam swallowed it. A most distressing situation for a trusting terrier.

Natures coffee

Is this the fluffiest cappuccino you have ever seen?

Got a couple of Strawberries!

I bought 3 kilos of strawberries. The car smells like a fruit shop and now the house is filled with strawberry aromas fresh, cooked and blitzed. A massive bowl of ripe strawberries lamenting the passing of another summer. What to make now? The jams done, so is the flummery, sauce, mousse, daiquiri and martini. So many recipes, perhaps I should have bought more hmmmm!

Been looking for animal plates

Have just spent a couple of weeks trawling through shops looking for plates with animal motifs. Nothing suitable and today I stumbled onto a garage sale as they were packing up. Not much left but they had Zebra plates. I usually don't find things until after I've bought something. Lucky day for
me today! Stay tuned for more animal videos on our YouTube channel
