Caravan & Lifestyle Show

Richo didn't want to go to the camping show because it was cold, rainy and horrible. I won because I am so proud of my new ankle and simply love walking around the displays pain free. After so many years of barely managing with a destroyed ankle, this is better than winning the lottery.
Queensland turned on a glorious day for us, hot sunny not a cloud in the sky. The entrance walkway was very muddy but the rest was in a pavilion and on bitumen. We bought a carport,
some special glue that will glue everything to anything.
A bunch of led lights,
kayak racks, silicone picnic ware and a cookbook from an author who used crowd sourcing to get it printed. She was a lovely little lady and had a bright red tear drop camper. I bought nearly one of everything she had and had a rave about how good I think silicone is and asked her if she minded if I did a product review on her products on our cheekyricho YouTube channel. She liked the idea so you can expect more info about her. She also has a website which shares recipes and new product information. You've gotta love that.
and containers. That are waterproof and some have dividers, drainers and also stack inside each other.
Some tie down hooks. Water containers, cigarette plugs, wiring connectors,  collected pamphlets and 10 heads full of ideas for our camper conversion. We got a very in depth demonstration of a TV satellite set up. They had this little cooker which was very interesting but the little gas canister to run it for only
5 hours costs about $14-15.00 and is only available at camping stores or some large lifestyle stores. If those canisters ever become unavailable the little stove will be redundant. Needless to stay we didn't get it. We had pizza for lunch it was prepared in about 3-4 minutes, very  burnt on the outside with totally raw dough and very cold in the centre. Worst pizza ever, I have never eaten raw pizza before, can't recommend it.! Turn the heat down guys and cook the damn thing properly, the only part that wasn't raw was charcoal and extended only about 1" in from the edge. I am so glad I only bought one!
It's a couple of hours drive home so it's been a pretty full day but we had a good time. After all the rain and the really horrible cold snap this was a wonderful day out in the warm Queeny sunshine.
Now the work begins to prepare the site for the new shed which will be here in 2 more sleeps. I swear I have to live to 150 years old to get my immediate jobs done.

Cheekyricho Chicken Cacciatore in the Tefal Cook 4 Me

So I bought a Tefal Cook 4 Me and decided to make Chicken Cacciatore from the recipe book that came with it.
The recipe looked too simple to be any good but my Mum was visiting and I try to encourage her to cook for herself at home. She instantly recognised the fact that I had another Appliance and was just as interested as me to see the results. It was s cold night and this yummy meal was brought to the table with steamed fresh Vegas, some crusty bread to sop up the delicious juices and I've got to tell you, this meal was quick, cheap, easy and cheap to make. My Mum really enjoyed it so I thought we would share our dinner with you.
We also made some Risoni, as suggested in the book and Mum said she enjoyed its texture and flavour. They are slippery little guys to keep on a fork thought. Check out the recipe and s few new ones on our cheekyricho YouTube channel. http://youtu.be/oVEuObfHcuw

Little Chocolate almond patty cakes

Richo built me a new cook book shelf it's about 10 metres long and supported from the roof with stainless steel chains .
It keeps all
My cooking books and recipe files in one area. I do need a chair to access them but they are out of the way and I can bring a bunch down at a time to research new recipes, adapt old favourites to
My new appliances or just search for recipes to present in response to requests from our viewers.

I found this super simple little number in a scabby old booklet that someone called Nerida had received as a gift back in 1994. I don't even know where I got it but I'm sure Nerida would approve of me sharing the recipes from
It with you.

Making Camp

Tilly checked out a suitable camp site. The sound of running water would lull us to sleep tonight after a hot meal and a full days travel. Firewood to collect, a camp to be set up. First time erecting a complicated shower tent, without instructions that had been supplied with our camper was 'interesting'. Made us lament the old pop up shower tent we used to use prior to a very heavy possum accidentally jumping onto it from a tree. Luckily no one was in the tent at the time because he shattered the fibreglass supports and tore the roof to shreds in his haste to decamp his mistake. It looked like it had just done 3 rounds with a tiger!
Lovely cleared open area to run crazy after being cooped in the car with only scheduled toilet and meal breaks. Soft green rye grass and clover to run and roll in, it's even good to Nibble on.
Don't forget to check out our Campfire Chili made in the camp oven. You can find it here http://youtu.be/3gxIEfDVaPk
We were lucky enough to share it with a delightful couple we met through YouTube. Our Tilly had a champion time playing with their handsome hounds. A very interesting and relaxing time was had by all. We baked bread, dampers, roast meals and cowboy style breakfasts. We even tried our new friends Bliss Balls, Richo has absolutely no restraint where they are concerned so you may expect to see them featuring on our channel shortly. I hope you get a chance to sit around a campfire in cold weather with a full belly and fantastic company, where you can share travel stories, pets and animals exploits and of course recipes. Thank you K & M for a great weekend.

Off camping!

We are so excited off on a long anticipated camping trip to meet up with one of our YouTube subscribers. Lots of campfires, fishing and travel stories to be shared. The dogs are also going to be meeting some new friends. It's going to be really cold. This time we are prepared. Beanies, scarves, feather quilts and camp ovens are packed.
First morning we stopped for hot buttered raisin toast with steaming hot milk coffee for smoko. Tilly tried to make friends with some local goats, unfortunately they were more interested in smacking their heads together whilst standing in their hind legs. Tilly decided they wouldn't make great friends after all and bounced back into the car to continue into our planned campsite.

Chocolate Mousse 2 ingredients cheekyricho video recipe.

I brought to you a 2 ingredient chocolate mousse some time ago which is more suitable to the adult palate as it uses very dark chocolate and isn't too sweet. This one is good for the whole family and is incredibly simple to make. We got some chocolate cups on sale and what better way to present this yummy all year round dessert than in individual chocolate dessert cups with home made whole vanilla bean icecream and a fresh sweet fat strawberry carved into the shape of a flower. Perfect for your next family dinner, party or surprise mum or you valentine. Even the culinary challenged will find this a snack to make. All you need is 300g of fresh cream and 100g of drinking chocolate powder, you know the kind you make hot chocolate with or sprinkle on top of cappuccino coffees. It easily makes enough for 8 individual desserts that are rich, smooth, creamy, chocolatey and idiot proof. If you know a more simple, easier or economical dessert for your next dinner I would love to hear about it. Check out our cheekyricho YouTube version here.
