I am a fan of interesting bridges. The bridge crossing the Burdekin Riverat Home Hill is very interesting, with only a 4.5m clearance at the sides large trucks are forced to travel closer the centre of the roadway to avoid hitting the sides. This can be quite scary for oncoming traffic as there is little room to move over. Home Hill is a very friendly RV town. There is a good travellers rest with warm timed showers, off street parking and good shops to replenish supplies. The tourist information people were very helpful and friendly.
There are crocodiles in this river and very good fishing. Wouldn't advise swimming though, regardless of how hot you are.
