Plains Turkeys Sighting

Driving down this desolate country road I saw in the distance what at first seemed to a clutch of baby emus. As we got closer Richo got very excited explaining these are Plains Turkeys or Bustards. Very rare to see them at such close quarters and there was a flock of them. They wandered about taking their own sweet time to let us through. They are tall with a small head and pointy beak. They have long skinny legs which have them very mobile, if they choose.richo tells me "they supposed to be good eating and kept many a settler and traveller from going hungry!" I told him "we will never know, as I won't be eating something so cute!"
