The sound of thunder kept us awake during the night. The rain did little to dissolve this constant thick smoke Haze. It is still very severe and there are medical advice warnings displayed on the television. Indonesia has a lot to answer for pollution wise. They do this every year to hold surrounding countries to ransom. This air quality vandalism is very wide spread severely disruptive and lasts for many many weeks. Malaysia has offered to send their army to assist in extinguishing these deliberately lit fires but Indinesia refused the help demanding money instead. This information is supplied according to every Malaysian person we spoke to, they are very unhappy with the situation and claim nothing can be done to stop it.
Our balcony breakfast table overlooks the pool which is 4 metres deep at the deep end and has a swim up bar. The buffet breakfast is extensive fresh and varied. The fruit muesli and yoghurt cereal station is set up in one little island.
Other islands include eggs, English breakfast, Chinese, Indian, Malay, toast, pastry, vegetarian rice and noodle. Probably the only place in the world where you can eat donuts, curry, Chinese soup, fruit loops, crab, chicken, fish, , fruit, noodles and salad for breakfast.
A glass elevator takes you to the massive foyer, which houses a library, lounge, gardens, and a balcony overlooking one of the restaurants. In its day it would have been a very very luxurious hotel, it is starting to show signs of age and the decor is more dated than I remember 5 years ago. This photo is taken from the 7th floor there are 2 such hexagonal shaped floors with drooping ferns hanging from gardens lining the inner perimeter.
Into town again and it's clay pot chicken and mushroom for lunch.
This is a huge bed in the hotel room.
And this is what happens when you try to move that bed by accidentally kicking the wheel Under it with your toe.

What do you think is it broken or just badly bruised, swollen and disfigured. Both toes are involved and they aren't happy!
It doesn't bend and is very sore plus it made a pretty significant crunchy noise upon impact.
